Welcome to grade 3 page. Here you will find information about what we are doing in class. Please visit the songs page to help practice French at home.
During this time of school closure, please remember that your health and that of your family comes first. These are some suggestions to help you maintain your French confidence!

April: A game that many of you have enjoyed is our flyswatter game. You could create your own flashcards with vocabulary that we have learned and play with your families! You could start with a few pictures (with words on the back to check answers if you need to) and then add more as you teach your family more French. Remember that you need to take turns, and encourage your family to keep trying even if they make a mistake, just as I encourage you to try in class! April 6:Teach someone in your house how to introduce themselves using “bonjour, je m’appelle …… (insert your name). Comment t’appelles-tu?” Also try teaching them the other introduction questions that we learned this year. For example “comment ca va?”, “quel age as-tu?”“quand est ton anniversaire?” March: During the start of the school closure, I hope that you are all safe and healthy. First off, please take care of yourselves! I look forward to seeing everyone at school again. To help maintain your French vocabulary and confidence, I would recommend reviewing the songs that we have done in class, as well as practicing the questions that we have learned so far this year.
February: We have started learning about who works in our school and what rooms we have in our school. We are asking questions such as "ou est ...... " (finished with a room in the school) and answered with "....... (the room) est en haut/en bas". as well as "qui travaille dans ....(the room)", answered with " ....(the person) travaille dans .....(the room)"
January: Welcome back! We will be starting to learn about sports and what we need to play those sports. Some helpful sentences are "J'aime jouer au soccer. J'ai besoin d'un ballon et les buts. J'aime le soccer parce que je cours beaucoup."
October/November: We have worked hard learning how to introduce ourselves and asking other introductory questions. We are now working on learning how to ask what we like with questions such as: "qu'est-ce que tu aimes pour ton anniversaire?", and "Est-ce que tu aimes......." where they have to fill in the blank. Most common words to fill in the blank are colours, food, or activities they like. September: Welcome back to French class! I have enjoyed seeing some familiar faces and meeting many new faces this past week. We are starting off the year learning how to talk about how we are feeling and asking about birthdays and ages of our friends.
