Welcome to grade 2 page. Here you will find information about what we are doing in class. We will be continuing to practice the skills we learned last year and adding complexity to questions we can ask and answers to those questions. Please visit the songs page to help practice French vocabulary at home.
During this time of school closure, please remember that your health and that of your family comes first. These are some suggestions to help you maintain your French confidence!

April: A game that many of you have enjoyed is our flyswatter game. You could create your own flashcards with vocabulary that we have learned and play with your families! You could start with a few pictures (with words on the back to check answers if you need to) and then add more as you teach your family more French. Remember that you need to take turns, and encourage your family to keep trying even if they make a mistake, just as I encourage you to try in class!
April 6:Teach someone in your house how to introduce themselves using “bonjour, je m’appelle …… (insert your name). Comment t’appelles-tu?” Also try teaching them the other introduction questions that we learned this year. For example “comment ca va?”, “quel age as-tu?” March: During the start of the school closure, I hope that you are all safe and healthy. First off, please take care of yourselves! I look forward to seeing everyone at school again. To help maintain your French vocabulary and confidence, I would recommend reviewing the songs that we have done in class, as well as practicing the questions that we have learned so far this year. February: We have now started learning objects we can find in our classroom. We will be asking questions such as "Est-ce que tu as ...." finishing with class objects, or "Qu-ce que tu as dans ton pupitre?" January: Welcome back! We will be learning to talk about activities that we do during the week and how often we do them.
October/November: We have worked hard learning how to introduce ourselves and asking other introductory questions. We are now working on learning how to ask what we like with questions such as "quel couleur est-ce que tu aimes?" and " Est-ce que tu aimes....." where they fill in the blank with colours or foods they like.
September: Welcome back to French class! I have enjoyed seeing some familiar faces and meeting many new faces this past week. We are starting off the year practicing introducing ourselves and asking how people are doing and how old they are.
